This image was taken in early August of 2022 on a backpacking trip with two of my best friends in Mt. Rainier National Park. This is an image that I’ve wanted to try for quite a while now. The conditions lined up just right with clear skies, no wildfire smoke, and a moon that descended below the horizon in time to take this image. If you look closely, you can see a climber’s headlamp on the mountain in the saddle between Little Tahoma and the mountain proper.
